In Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement Suzi Parron travels through twenty-nine states and two Canadian provinces to visit the people and places that have put this movement on America's tourist and folk art map. Through dozens of interviews with barn artists, committee members, and barn owners Parron documents a journey that began in 2001 with the founder of the movement, Donna Sue Groves. Groves's desire to honor her mother with a quilt square painted on their barn became a group effort that eventually grew into a county-wide project. Nieuwe trots op het buitenterrein van de Verbeke Foundation is een monumentaal werk van Marinus Boezem: '1584 La lumière Cistercienne Baudelo Gent 2016'. In de Baudelokapel in Gent stond 12 jaar lang een 24 meter hoge, 40 meter lange en 6 meter brede steiger die al 12 jaar de spanten en het dak ondersteunde. De Baudelokapel maakte in 1983 deel uit van het 'La lumière Cistercienne', waarin Marinus Boezem in 1983 het Cisterciëns licht vastlegde. Een nieuw kunstwerk werd geboren: de steigerconstructie is verplaatst naar Kemzeke/Stekene, waar de oorspronkelijke Baudelo abdij stond. Een honderdtal populieren zijn in de constructie geplant en de bodem is bedekt met de zwarte leien afkomstig van het dak van de kerk. De plattegrond van de kapel is in een betonnen fundering zichtbaar gemaakt. Het is een ongewoon sterke, monumentale en groeiende sculptuur geworden met de voor Boezem typerende tegenstelling tussen het vast raamwerk en de buigzame, naar het licht groeiende bomen die ruimte geven aan verbeelding.
